Blogging from the iPhone

Well I thought I had to try it out...

The city of Sheffield is either hibernating or in anticipation for the new years celebrations. Either way I'm bored out of my skull in the shop...

So here's a quick sketch I'm working on for the new collection still searching for those knock out designs...

Live Drawing Write Up by Sam Brewster

The old rascal Sam Brewtser published a post about Live Drawing on Creative Boom Sheffield. You can read my ramblings about it all on here

Long live Live Art.

Robots In Disguise

I've been approached by design and promotion agency, This Is Chemistry to produce a series of wall art for their offices, covering the studio, accounts and meeting room. The brief was simple they've asked for my own ideas based around the theme of robots and something that is a bit epic and lovely to look at in the background as they work away. Heres a sneak preview on one of the concepts I've been putting together from my sketchbook to Adobe Illustrator.

Music Music Music

I'm sat at my desk trying to complete some commission work before the year is out but I can't help but faff about on the net for more music to listen to. Pitchfork.com presented me with a "best Albums of 2009" post so I've been indulging all morning and even watching videos.

This one has to be one of my faves so far!

Hand Of Man

Fellow illustrator Sam Brewster has been busy this year with his editorial commissions and his self publication which some of us have contributed towards. The first zine in the Hand of Man series is aptly named, "Nature" to which all of the illustrations submitted have been based around organic and natural forms.

Other illustrators such as Lee Bamforth and Jake Binns are amongst the creatives who have work in the zine. Keep a look out for it around Sheffield on counters and if you're lucky enough, maybe a mail out!

Ill Blogging...

So I've been struck down this weekend with some bug or whatever you want to call it. And being bed ridden isn't fun, especially when I'm used to be doing things all the time. But I guess I've been able to stay productive all thanks to having a laptop.

The website has been updated after hours of squinting at my dim screen but I finally got there. All from the comfort ( and discomfort ) of my bed.

Some good news though, as fellow graphic designer Chris Smith rung me up today to ask if I would be available to illustrate for Plug nightclub posters once a month as of next year.

Having work around the corner is always good.

Photoshoot Pics

Still waiting to get my hands on the CD for the shoot, but James Brown from iso25.co.uk has been working hard post producing the shots. I love the washed out look and I'm proud of the models we picked for the shoot.

Expect more photos and updates on my website and the Hantu Collective online shop soon.

Fashionista...

Here are a few images I've been collaborating on with stylist Natasha Lyons and fashion photographer James Brown. Both of them I've found have been brilliant to work with and last night I went on my first photoshoot for the new Hantu Collection. Be sure to check out their websites! These images were fun for me to work into, it reminded me of watching "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" merging illustrative world with real, this could be something that I will explore more in the future.

Fine line...

Finally the white markers arrived so I was able to work some more detail in my secret big project. I'm sure some of you who live in Sheffield recognise where this is anyway. Hopefully it'll be finished by this Monday! Phew...
